GO GREY IN MAY

In loving memory of KBA members Olivia Carland and John Williams, we encourage you to head down to the Thunderdome this weekend and help raise funds for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

John Williams was a club committee member and also coached at our club with Tyson Harrington for many seasons.  John will always be remembered for how he touched the lives of the girls and families in their team and beyond.  John’s contribution to the Keilor Thunder program will also never be forgotten.

He also coached at Aberfeldie Jets and St Bernards.

Olivia Carland played with both St Christopher’s and Keilor Thunder.  At seventeen, Olivia was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  Olivia fought bravely and endured various treatments.  Olivia was a wonderful teammate, a much-loved player and inspiration to all.

A MESSAGE FROM THE KBA

Hi Everyone,

As many of you I am sure are aware, the annual Go Grey in May weekend of Big V is coming up on May 8th.

Go Grey in May commemorates the lives of Olivia Carland and John Williams who sadly lost their lives to Brain Cancer. The month of May is dedicated to raising awareness of this disease through the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and the KBA, in conjunction with its corporate partners and Junior Domestic clubs raise funds for this worthy cause.

This year, our double header sees the Youth Women and Championship Women taking on the Hawthorn Magic at 6pm and 8pm respectively. We would love to see as many of our Junior Domestic clubs as possible come along to see a fantastic night of Basketball. Not only will the evening involve some great Basketball but it will also include silent auctions, a raffle, half time entertainment, new Keilor Thunder merchandise and great new menu options in the KBA Snack Shaq (formerly the canteen).

Please contact the KBA Office directly if you require anything further and we look forward to seeing you on May 8th.

Regards
