Responsibilities

Training is the time for coaches to teach new skills, provide advice, give feedback, with the aim to develop the players and help foster friendships and teamwork.

At training, coaches are responsible for their team (registered players), not siblings or friends that may be on the sidelines.

Everyone is responsible for leaving venues tidy, take your rubbish, ball, water bottle and clothing with you.

=

Players

  • Wear training top or uniform
  • Bring own basketball and water bottle
  • Arrive close to the training start time, wait until the previous team has finished the training before going on the court
  • Wait inside for pick up (if parent / guardian not at training)
=

Coaches/team managers

  • Wait until the previous team has finished the training before going on the court

  • Finish training quickly and have discussions outside the court area

  • Ensure at least 2 adults are present, as per child safety requirements and in case of an injury.

  • Ensure no player is left on their own waiting to be picked up

  • Securely open and close the venue (if first or last to use venue).

=

Parents

  • Check coach or team manager has arrived before driving off. Players are not to be left at our training venues unsupervised.

  • Closely supervise siblings or other children brought to training. They are not allowed to run around, run onto the court, play in the toilets, climb on, or use any school equipment, play outside or wander around the venue.

=

Smoking & Dogs

  • Smoking and vaping on school premises or within 4 metres of the entrance to a school is illegal.

  • Dogs are not allowed on the school grounds.
