BASKETBALL Victoria will donate $10,000 to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal to support communities affected by the devastating bushfires across Victoria and throughout the country.
Basketball Victoria CEO Nick Honey said the organisation is proud to contribute to the relief effort and support Victorian communities throughout this difficult period.
“The bushfires burning throughout Australia have devastated a number of communities and our support is just the beginning of what will be needed to help with long term assistance and getting people back on their feet,” Honey said. “We encourage everyone to get behind those affected and we’re keen to see the Victorian basketball community pitch in any way they can.”
Our $10,000 donation will also be supported by the Basketball Victoria Bushfire Relief Auction, set to be launched later this week, with 100 per cent of proceeds raised by the auction to go direct to the fundraising efforts for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
The Basketball Victoria Bushfire Relief Auction will feature a number of pieces of Victorian star player memorabilia, including merchandise from Ben Simmons, Matthew Dellavedova, Jenna O’Hea, Andrew Bogut and Ezi Magbegor.
“We’re also proud to have items from a number of our Victorian stars for our Bushfire Relief Auction, which we hope will make a significant contribution to this cause,” Honey said.
