The KBA Board have made the decision to alter the finals series format for the 2021 Winter Junior Domestic Season. The finals series will be reduced from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. The main reasons advised for this change are:
- The regular season will have an additional round, providing all players with more game time.
- Teams that do not make the finals will now have one less week on the sidelines waiting for the new season to start.
The new format means:
- there is no longer a double chance for the teams finishing in the top 2 positions.
- there is now greater incentive to be top of the ladder as first place teams will play the lowest rank finals team.
The KBA have advised that the new format for the final series will bring us in line with other associations. The following diagram shows the old format and the new format.
